The Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby has huge feet which help it “stick” as it races across almost vertical surfaces of sheer rocky mountain slopes. It is representative of the plight of much of Australia’s macropods – dwindling numbers. The appealing expression is no-doubt what made the WWF use this portrait on the cover of its magazine.
