The Gang-gang is not a common cockatoo, but the likelihood of hearing its “creaky door” call is higher in the area around Canberra. When feeding, in this case on green acacia pods, they give no hint of their presence – until you hear the crunch, crunch sounds and realise you are almost on top of them.
